Nigerian govt has abandoned us, NDDC scholarship beneficiaries

Image
Some beneficiaries of the scholarship scheme put in place by the Nigerian government through the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, have alleged that the commission has abandoned them. The scholars who craved anonymity, said they had been subjected to unfair and inhuman treatment by the commission since 2016. The affected beneficiaries are Masters and PhD students of Niger Delta origin who won the scholarship awards in 2014 and 2015. They alleged that their ordeals started when the leadership of the current NDDC board assumed office in November 2016. The NDDC is an interventionist agency that was set up to improve the welfare of the people of the oil rich Niger Delta region. As part of its mandate, the NDDC scholarship scheme was set up to improve the manpower capacity of Niger Delta youth by sponsoring them for Masters and PhD programmes in universities abroad. The beneficiaries were also carefully positioned to study courses considered to be of deve...

AYADE INCREASE NUMBER OF SOLAR POWER TO COVER ALL FOCAL PRIMARY HEALTH CENTERS IN Cross River State (CRS)

Image
INSTALLATION BEGINS ACROSS THE STATE IN PHCs. As night falls, most of our Primary Health centers were thrown into darkness. Pregnant women were required to bring kerosene as part of their delivery Items. Delivery's at night most times happen with lantern, bush lamps and phone lights as centers were either not connected to national grid or the village didn't even have electricity at all. It affected inflow of mothers to deliver in health centers with skilled birth attendants, with the resultant effect being more cases of maternal mortality in our villages. The cross river state worked with partners to get in some solar systems to light up our centers, however that was not enough to cover all focal PHCs. The proactive Governor went further to fund an increase in the number of imported Solar systems to cover all focal PHCs in the state. This is in line with his priorities that puts health first when it comes to the welfare of his people. The additional solar...

PROFESSOR BEN AYADE, THE DIGITAL GOVERNOR OF CROSS RIVER STATE. ( A FARMER THAT SOWS WITH FATE )

Image
A FARMER THAT SOWS WITH FATE With genuine inspirational dreams to revolve Cross Ri ver State into an Industrial hop, the digital Governor, Prof. Ben. AYADE can be likened with the Biblical Farmer that sows with fate for a bumper harvest, therefore, the digital Governor should be seen and estimated as a Unified, a Political enigma and Colossus, a game changer and in general, a Nation builder and Healer with a developmental transition in his mind. Though, the metaphysical transcendence inherent in his dream of Industrializing the State might appear too dark to his Foes, antagonists and adversaries to acquaint themselves with the light in it. However, we can achieve, if we as a people stake down our respective interests and support the Governor of his noble dreams for our State's development and for posterity sake. Let us all remember our CHILDREN, GRAND CHILDREN and GREAT, GREAT GRAND CHILDREN !!

Cross River State Water Board Limited -- The abandoned Cash Cow

Cross River State Water Board Limited -- The abandoned Cash Cow Let me open this epistle by quoting the late legend Fela A kuti wh o said "water no get Enemy"... True to this words water really no get Enemy because every household indeed makes use of water for differing purposes. If water truly has no enemy then we can state that the good people of Cross River and water are kins..after all the name indicates the presence of water(Rivers) everywhere. Sadly tho, there seems to be a plan to create enmity between my good people and water...our taps have all run dry!! The Cross River State water board limited which was incorporated in 1988 with the mandate to provide clean and affordable water to inhabitants of the state has for some inexplicable reason failed abysmally in this regards. This epistle is not to point out the gross inefficiency that abounds in that body but rather awaken us to the revenue generator we have abandoned for unfathomable reasons. The yea...
