ERADICATION OF POLIO AND OTHER DISEASES: CRS FLAG-OFF 2017 1ST ROUND IMMUNIZATION PLUS DAYS

The Wife of the Cross River State Governor, Her Excellency, Dr Linda Aya de represented by the honorable Commissioner for health, Dr Inyang Asibong has flagged off the 1st round of the 2017 immunization plus days in Cross River State with a call on Cross Riverians to join hands to eradicate the disease. Performing the exercise at the Primary Healthcare Centre, Kasuk, Calabar the governor wife said that Cross River is doing well in the fight against polio and other vaccinated diseases. She thanked the traditional rulers and opinion leaders, the church,health workers and the development partners for helping the state government in mobilising their wards and community to benefit from immunization exercises so as to rid the state of the dreaded diseases. Governor Ayade of Cross River State Nigeria Commences Need Assessment Process On Direct Critical Rural Infrastructures At The Various Council Ward

The governor's consideration is that while mega pr ojects like Super Highway and Deep Seaport are to great benefits to the state, nation and neighboring countries, rural communities will need critical infrastructures to be put in place and to feel that closeness with government. Consequently, a team of project experts led by Hon Ken Aklah, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Governor's Office has been detached by the Governor with the purpose of involving members of the council wards all over the state in an interaction to identify projects of utmost needs and urgency to the rural communities. Starting from Northern part of the state yesterday, being 23rd of March, 2017, these interactive engagements with locals are expected to be carried out across the 196 council wards of the state and basically intended to identify projects of need and preference to the people.
