A move to Goodison Park - which could be completed on Wednesday - would see Schneiderlin reunited with his former manager Ronald Koeman, under whom he flourished while the pair were together at Southampton. Schneiderlin arrived at the club's Finch Farm training complex early on Wednesday afternoon as the move gathered pace. The France international was brought to United by Louis van Gaal in a £24m deal in the summer of 2015 but has failed to win favour since Jose Mourinho took over last summer. It is understood the fee could rise to £24m with add-ons, with Schneiderlin available to face Manchester City. After starting 25 Premier League games and making four substitute appearances during his debut campaign at Old Trafford, Schneiderlin has been limited to three brief substitute appearances in the league this season. Speaking after the 2-0 EFL Cup semi-final first leg win over Hull City on Tuesday, Mourinho said: "(Executive vice-chairman) Ed Woodward informed me...

The 36-year-old center-back will see out the rest of his contract at Stamford Bridge, which expires in the summer. Sky sources reported on Tuesday that Bournemouth had asked Chelsea if they could take Terry on loan for the rest of the campaign, after losing on-loan Nathan Ake back to the Blues. Terry has struggled for game-time under Antonio Conte after an early-season injury and the Italian's successful back-three system has spurred Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Cesar Azpilicueta into sensational form. Terry played in the FA Cup third-round thrashing of Peterborough at the weekend alongside the returning Kurt Zouma but the ex-England captain was sent off on 66 minutes.

Gambia’s information minister, Sheriff Bojang, has resigned to protest President Yahya Jammeh’s refusal to accept defeat in last month’s presidential election, reports say. Efforts to contest the results were “an attempt to subvert the express will” of the Gambian people, he said in a statement. State television reported that Mr. Bojang had been sacked. The UN Security Council has called on President Jammeh to step down. He initially accepted that opposition leader Adama Barrow won the election, but then reversed his decision, citing electoral “abnormalities”. “The Gambia has decided and we must accept and respect this decision,” Mr. Bojang said in his statement. He also spoke to Reuters by phone from neighbouring Senegal. In October, Sheriff Bojang, made headlines when he announced The Gambia’s intention to pull out of the International Criminal Court. He described it as “an International Caucasian Court for the persecution and humiliation of people of colour, e...

The Citizens Advocacy for Social and Economic Rights (CASER) has called on Pastor Enoch Adeboye to rescind his resignation as the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). The call came in a statement issued by the Executive Director of the Abuja-based human rights group, Frank Tietie, on Tuesday. Mr. Tietie said CASER would seek a court order to compel Mr. Adeboye to reverse his decision should the “holy man of God’’ refuse to voluntarily do so. Mr. Adeboye stepped down as the General Overseer of the RCCG in Nigeria on Saturday on the basis of the controversial Corporate Governance Code of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN). The code, which stipulates a 20-year maximum tenure for heads of religious groups and civil rights organisations, among other provisions, was suspended by the Federal Government on Monday. But for the suspension, the regulation could have also seen the exit of other affected men of God from the headship of their ...
