Governor Ayade donates 160 vehicles to security agencies in Cross River state

The Cross River State Governor, Prof Ben Ayade, on Thursday, donated 160 vehicles to security agencies in the Cross River in the bid to curb the state of insecurity in the state and ensure a smooth and crime free 2016 carnival.
Ayade disclosed that the gesture by the state government is a demonstration of his administration’s commitment to protect Cross Riverians and other Nigerians living in the state from criminal elements and totally secure the state from criminals and persons with intentions to cause trouble at this festive period in Cross River.



To this end, he called on all Nigerians and fun seeking people to come to cross River at this period as the government have put in all measures that would protect them from mischief makers and ensure they enjoy themselves in the state rather than traveling abroad at this period of recession.
Speaking at the presentation of the vehicles to service chiefs of security agencies in the state, governor Ayade said that the government is trying to achieve is a manageable level of it, that the ordinary people of Cross River state will be proud that they have a set of security agencies serving them.
According to him the quality of vehicles donated is an indication of the level of safety and security that would be provided for cross Riverians and Nigerians generally.
He further noted that the establishment of the homeland security is a determined commitment to address headlong the issues of insecurity in the state.
His word: ‘We have created an opportunity for everybody to come to Calabar for the carnival and end of 2016 but as you do so take a look at the array of vehicles that are here . That tells you of the level of security, level of safety that you would enjoy once you come to Calabar. We actually have the homeland security; the homeland security is a team of trained young graduates trained in the scheme of security, protection of lives and properties. They would be working in collaboration with the Nigerian police and the armed forces to ensure peace, tranquillity, safety of lives and properties all through the yuletide, carnival and indeed beyond.


He stated that the state is committed to providing security support services, noting that Cross River state government virtually providing the security support services but above all we choose today to actually to officially do the launching and release of this vehicles because is the first of December when our carnival will start. We therefore use this opportunity to tell every Nigerian and indeed the entire world to please come to Cross River state to enjoy the 2016 Christmas
In addition, Governor Ayade advised Nigerians to take advantage of this recession to come to the state to enjoy themselves noting that Cross River is the preferred destination at this period .He however use the opportunity of the presentation and called on people from all over the world to attend the 2016 Calabar carnival, assuring that security wise this year carnival is totally secured from intruders and criminal elements.
In his response at the occasion, the state security adviser, Jude Ngaji said today is a day of wonder because we are experiencing this kind of thing in the history of Cross River state. He stressed that with this donation coupled with the dynamic security alert governor and the proactive service commanders in the state, all the bad guys will have no choice but be on the run out of the state.
Speaking on behalf of the Service Chiefs, the state commissioner for police , Jimoh Ozi-Obeh thanked the governor for the worthy donation and assured that his mandate of crime free Cross River state, promising that the security agencies will not fail the state and the governor.
