Obasanjo is the most corrupt Nigeria ever, says ex-Speaker
Former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has been described as the most corrupt Nigerian ever.
he assertion was made by ex-House of Representatives Speaker Ghali Na'Abba, who stated that the former leader lacks the integrity to label members of the National Assembly as "corrupt".
Na'Abba has lashed out at Obasanjo, questioning his dealings during his administration and stating that he had nothing before becoming President but engaged in questionable expenditure during his tenure in the presidential seat.
Well, I don’t think there is anybody more corrupt in this country like the former President. I believe you are talking about the former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
"As the Speaker, I took Obasanjo on several issues of expenditure offences which he committed and could not show remorse. So, I don’t think he has the integrity to call anybody in the NASS corrupt. This is the man who became President with nothing and today he is one of the richest Nigerians, let him explain to Nigerians how he acquired the money," Na'Abba said, according to The Nation.
Obasanjo had left the masses stunned on Friday when he stormed the venue where the People's Democratic Party (PDP) Convention Committee Inauguration was being held and stated that the opposition was seeking cheap political gains while planning to embarrass him.
