The Accused of Ahmedabad bomb blasts arrested in Belagavi
Nasir arrested by Gujarat Anti Terrorist Squad on Sunday night
Nasir alias Parvez Rangrez, an accused in the July 26, 2008, Ahmedabad
serial bomb blasts was arrested by Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Gujarat
at Belagavi late on Sunday night.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Amarnth Reddy (Crime and Traffic) told
reporters here on Monday that ATS team, lead by Inspector Bhavesh,
arrived at Belagavi with an arrest warrant against Nasir. After
arresting the accused, the team informed the Market Police Station and
left for Gujarat along with Nasir.
Nasir was arrested from a house in Badkal Galli under Market Police
Station. The absconder, now in ATS net, was allegedly among the accused
who perpetuated the barbaric blasts that killed around 56 persons and
leaving more than 200 injured in serial bomb blasts in the Gujarat
capital.
The ATS, working on a tip off that Nasir had taken shelter in Belagavi, rushed with the arrest warrant and arrested him.
