Saudi Arabia considering income tax for expats

 Saudi’s finance minister has said officials considering a proposal to implement income tax for expats

Saudi Arabia’s finance minister Ibrahim Al Assaf says the kingdom is considering bringing in income tax on foreign residents.
According to a report in the Financial Times, Saudi Arabia is aiming to raise non-oil revenues and cut spending to fund a $72 million economic diversity plan.
 Al Assaf says no plans for expat income tax have been confirmed. He said: “As for residents’ tax, it is a proposal – nothing has been approved yet and it will be examined.”
